Our Beliefs

Counseling Philosophy

Only Jesus is the Healer, and He is the Wonderful Counselor. Through the use of Caring For the Heart material by John Regier, HOPE Ministries seeks to help individuals understand the pressures and pain they have experienced, and the feelings caused by these unmet needs. When we admit our hearts have been hurt and receive God’s comfort and healing as we talk to Him in prayer, we can offer forgiveness at a much deeper level and inner change takes place. We can then allow God to use that pain in redemptive ways and offer hope to other hurting individuals.

We are not professional counselors, but Biblical/pastoral counselors.

Doctrine

HOPE Ministries accepts the Scriptures as the revealed will of God, the all sufficient rule of faith and practice, and for the purpose of maintaining purpose and focus, adopts these Statements of Foundational Truths.

  1. We believe that there is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  2. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious death and atonement through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal and visible return in power and glory. Jesus was and is the living Word of God.

  3. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, to convict men of sin, and by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life, and by Whom the Church is empowered to carry out Christ's great commission. (fruit and gifts)

  4. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God.

  5. We believe that man was created in the image of God, and that he was tempted by Satan and fell, and that, because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary for salvation.

  6. We believe that Satan is a personal being whom God created as the highest and sinless angel, through pride fell and became the originator of sin.

  7. We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved unto everlasting life and joy with the Lord, and those who are lost to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.
